National Honor Society Induction Ceremony!!
November 1, 2013 the SCVCS chapter of the National Honor Society inducted six new members. Three other students have been accepted and will be inducted at a later date.
President C Cromer, Secretary A Smith, Past President J Edwards, and current members M Wagstaff and C Carver helped with the ceremony to induct the following new members:
E Bishop, L Williamson, L Frederick, A Poltorak, C Worthy, and M Smallwood.
The other accepted members are A Gould, A Larson, and M Willard.
Principal Dr. Phil Flynn spoke to the group about their responsibilities as members in National Honor Society.
Family members and SCVCS staff also attended the candlelight induction which was followed by a reception.
Next semester, sophomores, juniors, and seniors at SCVCS will be invited to apply for this prestigious group beginning its second year at SCVCS, one of the few virtual schools to receive a charter. Requirements are a 3.89 weighted GPA, teacher recommendations to attest to scholarship and character. Service and leadership are measured by projects sponsored by the chapter and an individual service project.
