William Thomas Knuckles in 1843, the Knuckles-Jefferies House was a gathering
spot for John C. Calhoun and other S.C. Statesmen from the state’s early
history. Also, known as Wagstop Plantation, the farm also includes the
location that General Daniel Morgan and his men camped before following the
Green River Road to fight at the Battle of Cowpens in the American
Revolution. The home will be open for tours and the grounds will be the
site of various living history activities.
