Meet Your Teacher: Leticia Reed

About Me:  I am originally from Guatemala and came to this country to work as an international teacher in August of 2002. I hold the equivalent of a B.S. in Business Administration and a B.A. in ESOL in Guatemala. In the United States, I hold a B.S. in Business Administration from Walden University and a M.A. in TESOL from Greensboro College, North Carolina. I am currently working towards my M.S. in Educational Leadership. I have already earned 30 semester hours and expect to graduate in December, 2012. I also completed 30 semester credit hours in Educational Leadership back home in Guatemala and I worked as a school administrator for a couple of years. I have been a Spanish and English as a second language teacher both in Guatemala and the United States. I taught in Georgia for five years and this is my fifth year of teaching in SC.

Personal Info:  I love hiking, camping, and learning computer software packages, such as graphic and web design, during my spare time! I am married with three children ages 23, 20, and 8. My 8-year-old was recently selected to participate in the South Carolina Gifted and Talented Program and we are very proud of him. My 23-year-old son is a chef for a fine dining restaurant and my 20-year-old daughter is a college student. My husband is a senior technical writer responsible for writing technical documentation for the government.

My Biggest Pet Peeve (Something that really bugs me):  My biggest pet peeve is to see spelling mistakes, especially on billboards!
