SCVCS high school students around the state kicked off the Halloween weekend with a couple of grave robbers, a few zombies and a puppet master on the unusually cold night of Friday, October 28, 2011. A group of 40 SCVCS students, families, and teachers (from around the state) met in the lobby of Conway's Theatre of the Republic and enjoyed the Broadway musical A Tale of Two Cities. The evening of song, dance, special effects, romance, rebellion, friendship and splendid acting brought about laughter, tears and applause. SCVCS also received a shout out before the show and all had an opportunity to meet the performers. Thanks to everyone for making the evening an extra special event!! --Ms. Sasser (HS English Teacher)
WOW!! Thanks for "turning us on to " Conway's hidden gem!! We had such a great time. Thanks!! --SCVCS Learning Coach
This is a picture of the cast at the end of the play. I really enjoyed the music and thought the storyline was easy to follow. Much appreciation for the hard work that I know it took. Some of the students expressed that they were interested in theatre and were greatly entertained by the music and actors. Thanks to Ms. Sasser who organized this trip!! --Ms. Brewer (HS English Teacher)
